My Very First Post!

After much debate and discussion with friends and family, I have decided to create a blog as an outlet to discuss our struggles with infertility. Hopefully, soon (very soon!) Husband and I will be blessed with our very own "peanut" and then I can devote this blog to all of our stories as first time parents- as I am sure there will be many humorous stories to share! Until that time comes, though, there will be many stories of doctor visits, consultations, fertility tests and all the other "exciting" things we will experience over the next undetermined amount of time.

Since being diagnosed with infertility over 3 months ago, I have learned that many people in our daily lives have never experienced what Husband and I are going through. Our family was shocked, to say the least, and our friends shared similar reactions when we told them we were having trouble getting pregnant. Husband and I decided from the very beginning that we would not hide what we are going through- especially since we feel there is nothing to be ashamed of. We both tend to be very open people (it is still up for debate whether this is a good or bad thing) and why would we change that now?

I have considered blogging about our journey for a while now, but kept thinking "what in the world am I going to talk about?" Trust me, my life is not THAT interesting, and I am sure there will be days when I will have to rack my brain to think of something to post- although, secretly, I hope this blogging thing will come a lot more naturally to me than that! But with some much-needed support from Husband and a couple of friends- including another fellow blogger, Taylor at The Undomestic Momma- I finally gained enough confidence to start one! My hope is that, by writing this blog, I can meet others who are struggling with infertility too, inform those who have never had to go through it, and let our friends and family know that while Husband and I may be going through a hard time now, we know that we will come out of this as a strong and happy family!

PS- For those of you who do not know "our story" yet, I hope to have a page created soon, detailing all the events that have led Husband and I to this point!

Oh my goodness Caitrin, this almost brings me to tears! It's so much better not things bottle up inside, so I'm glad you decided to share this blog. You and Colin and baby-to-be are all in my prayers. You are so strong to be going through what you are going through. <3, dre

I sure hope everything works out for you and your husband. I am in the same boat with mine. We haven't been officially diagnosed yet, but we have been trying for over a year and a half. We are moving to a new location in a week and hopefully with start the process there of trying to figure out what is truly wrong.

I sure wish you luck. I can't tell you how much I wish for it to happen for us soon. I am so sick of people asking us when we are going to have kids. Good luck!! I will be following your journey.
